A hub for Great Lakes Permies: Newsletter #1

Every other Thursday the GLPP staff puts out a newsletter to keep people current on happenings in the bio-region. Here we have published the content of Newsletter #1 where we describe the reason for a hub and what some of our goals are. We’ll publish newsletter content periodically so people can see what we’re sending out. Subscribe on the right to receive the newsletter straight in your inbox!

A Great Lakes Permaculture Community Hub

GLPP has been designed to serve the permaculture community of the Great Lakes bio-region at a number of levels. For beginners, we provide an array of regional resources and groups to connect into. Many people have expressed getting excited to start but not having a support network or where to start, we hope to decrease this feeling.
Detroit is the hub the suburbs revolve around
For community groups and designers, we advertise upcoming events. As the elder organic farmer Tom Willey pointed out in a recent interview, marketing is one of the skills necessary for a successful operation. Marketing, however, takes time that could be used toward furthering other ventures. By creating a hub, we hope to alleviate some of the need for individual groups to spend lots of energy advertizing, so we can all get more good work done.

For the community, we host it all in one place to make it easier to access. And we put out a newsletter. A newsletter you are reading right now [subscribe button on right]. Thank you.

Permaculture is a design science. Some workshop listings may not be run by people that have gone through PDC training, but provide knowledge about elements that may be used in permaculture designs. As always, if there’s something you would like to see here, please let us know, because your neighbor would probably like to see it as well! You might even suggest they join the newsletter mailing list!
